OGS Works, based within Old Granada Studios Manchester, has been announced as the first permanent brand for St. John’s Enterprise City – a collection of workspaces providing infrastructure and inspiration for growing businesses.

Allied London, the property developer behind OGS Works and St. John’s Enterprise, has re-invigorated a building steeped in a rich cultural history and already welcomed members and businesses from the world of media, technology, fashion, music production and recording and retail –creating a community where passion, people and ideas come together.

Michael Ingall, CEO of Allied London, spoke to an invited audience at the launch of OGS Works and said: “The vision for OGS Works has been crafted around innovation industry, creative invention and above all, a thirst for ideas. We are creating a real eco-system and our space has already become a genuine hub. The passion here is outrageous and infectious and we can feel that this is going to get huge. It is a third generation space and OGS Works is now going to be the bedrock for a massive expansion of enterprise space at St. John’s.”

Tanya Grady, Community Manager of OGS Works said: “We have so many cool brands and people based within OGS Works, from freelancers to start-ups and there is already a real buzz and excitement about the space we’ve created. It is more than just a location for people to work, it’s a place where people can create, socialise and network with like-minded individuals. We look forward to welcoming more brands to our community and watching them prosper here”.

OGS Works will sit alongside Hello Work, a social enterprise brand funded by Allied London. The team will provide business and marketing support to people with a genuine vison and hunger to create or develop their business idea and make their mark on the business world.

Michael Ingall concluded: “St. John’s Enterprise City is about creating so much more than just buildings. It is about providing infrastructure and inspiration so businesses can realise their full potential. Through Hello Work we want to help people with ideas, vison and ambition take those first steps or move their business to the next level. We don’t want to own the business, but ultimately be a catalyst for growth. We will help access the right advice and people and if required, the appropriate capital to expand their business”.

Enterprise City at St. John’s will open in March 2017 with the first phase centred on the Bonded Warehouse, an 80,000sq ft former warehouse, with an initial activation cost of £5m.

Costs in OGS Works start from (per-month) £100 for a hot-desk, £200 for a resident (fixed desk), £500 for a 2 to 3 person private study office and £750 for a 3 to 4 person private study/office.
