After more than fifty years as the UK’s most significant independent TV production and broadcast centre; the studios closed as host to ITV and, late in 2014, was reborn as Old Granada Studios with a new agenda and increased capability to host, support and produce a wide dynamic of events, creative productions, brand experiences and cultural projects.
During 2015 and early 2016, Old Granada Studios hosted music and events including FKA Twigs as part of Manchester International Festival, Kendrick Lamar live with Reebok, Quarantine’s celebrated theatre show “Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter” and The Northern Powerhouse launch. This successful prologue has proved a great lead-in to the next chapters that will define Old Granada Studios and the role it will play in St Johns, Manchester’s pioneering city centre neighbourhood.
Over the summer of 2016, Old Granada Studios will continue with a season of gigs, art and photography exhibitions, recording sessions, product launches, conventions, festivals and productions in partnership with some of the best and brightest promoters, curators, brands, artists and cultural producers.
